This week, instead of doing our usual planning meeting, I wanted to describe what a normal workday feels like while we are building The Roasted Bean. Since the project is still in progress, each day brings new challenges and new ideas. Today shows what it feels like to work on the business from morning to night, and how we are slowly bringing everything together while also planning our next steps.
The morning started with checking in on what we have done so far. I opened all our documents again, including our research notes, our brand identity ideas, and the early drafts of our business plan. Morning is usually when everything feels the most clear, so it helps to look at the big picture then. I read through our mission statement and our target audience notes to remind myself of our main goals. After that, I made a small list of what still feels unfinished, like the pricing details, our marketing ideas, and the website layout. Morning is the time when I try to get organized, and today it helped me see what needs attention next.
By midday, I started shifting into deeper work. This usually happens after the group checks in or after everyone shares updates. Today, we talked about our branding again because we want it to feel stronger before moving forward. We are not ready to finalize a logo yet, so we spent time exploring more ideas. I looked at color palettes, simple shapes, and different font styles that match the warm, friendly feeling we want for The Roasted Bean. Midday is when our creative energy is highest, so we try to use that time for design work or anything that needs fresh ideas. We also reviewed our competitor research again to make sure our branding sets us apart in a clear way. These middle hours of the day feel busy and productive, but also kind of fun because we get to imagine what our business could look like in the future.
In the late afternoon, the work usually shifts into problem solving. Today, we talked about what steps we need to take next in order to keep the project moving. We looked at our operations plan and realized we still need to explain certain details more clearly, like how we will handle packaging or what our roasting options might be. We also talked about our upcoming tasks, such as developing a stronger marketing strategy and writing more complete sections for our final business plan. Afternoon is the time when we make decisions, adjust our goals, and plan what tomorrow will need to look like.
By night, the energy feels different. It becomes quieter, and I usually spend that time wrapping up the day. I read through the notes we made earlier and made a small checklist for the next work session. I also looked back at what we were able to complete today. Even though the project is not close to being done, seeing progress each night helps me stay motivated. Nighttime is when I reflect on how the day went and what we learned.
Working on The Roasted Bean feels like a long journey, but days like this show how all the small steps add up. Morning brings clarity, midday brings creativity, afternoon brings planning, and night brings reflection. Together, these moments keep our project moving forward, even though there is still a lot more to do.
