Blog Post 1: Getting Started With The Roasted Bean

Starting The Roasted Bean has been a new and exciting experience for our team. When we first began this project, we knew we wanted to create something that felt warm, friendly, and simple. We did not want a business that felt complicated or confusing. We wanted a coffee brand that people our age could enjoy and understand. This first week was all about building the foundation of our idea and figuring out what kind of business we want to become.

At the very beginning, we spent time talking as a group about the purpose of The Roasted Bean. We asked ourselves what type of company we wanted to create, who we wanted to help, and why anyone would choose our coffee instead of someone else’s. We agreed that our business should focus on quality, honesty, and connection. We want our customers to feel like they are part of a friendly coffee community, not just buying a product. We liked the idea of making good coffee more available to young adults who want something better than cheap store coffee but cannot afford very expensive brands.

After we talked about our mission, we started thinking about how our business would look. We shared ideas for names, colors, and even the mood our brand should give off. When we chose the name The Roasted Bean, it felt right because it was simple, easy to remember, and gave a warm feeling. It made us think about the smell of fresh beans, early mornings, and comfort. This helped us start imagining what our website and packaging might look like in the future.

We also talked about what makes a business meaningful. We want to focus on good sourcing, which means choosing beans that come from farmers who are treated fairly. We want to respect the people who grow the coffee, because their work is important. We also talked about wanting our brand to feel modern and easy for customers to use. For example, we want online shopping to be simple and stress free. Many young adults prefer ordering things online, so building a helpful website will matter a lot.

Another important part of our first week was talking about our goals as a team. We knew that to create a strong business idea, we needed to share responsibilities and listen to each other. Each person in the group has different strengths, and that helps our work feel more balanced. We started dividing tasks and making plans for what we would focus on in the next weeks. This helped all of us feel more organized and ready for the rest of the project.

By the end of the first week, The Roasted Bean felt more real. It was no longer just an idea in our heads. We had a mission, a name, and a shared vision. Even though there is still a lot to do, this early stage helped us understand what direction we want to take. It showed us that planning, teamwork, and clear goals are the first steps in building a business that means something. The Roasted Bean is just getting started, but we already feel excited about where this journey will lead us.
