During the third week of creating The Roasted Bean, our team focused on building our brand identity. This was one of the most creative and exciting parts of the project because it helped us shape what our business will look and feel like. A strong brand identity helps customers understand who we are, what we care about, and why our coffee matters. It also makes our business look more professional and trustworthy.
We started by revisiting our mission and the values we talked about in the first week. We want The Roasted Bean to feel warm, honest, and simple. We want people to think of comfort, good mornings, and fresh starts when they see our name. Keeping these ideas in mind helped guide every design decision we made this week. It reminded us that design is not just about looking good. It is also about communicating a feeling and a message.
One of the first tasks we worked on was brainstorming logo ideas. We sketched different shapes, fonts, and symbols that could represent our brand. Coffee beans, steam, cups, and soft lines all became part of our ideas. We wanted the logo to be easy to recognize and not too complicated. We also talked about making sure it would look good on packaging, a website, and even on small items like stickers or labels. After sharing ideas and giving each other feedback, we started moving toward a logo style that matched the mood of our brand.
Next, we looked at colors. Choosing colors is a big part of brand identity because color can affect how people feel. We wanted warm tones that remind people of roasted coffee beans, morning light, and comfort. Colors like brown, cream, soft orange, and warm tan were some of the options we explored. We also needed a color that could stand out for accents, like a deep green or a soft red. Talking through these choices helped us imagine how our website and packaging would look later on.
After that, we discussed fonts. The font we choose should match the personality of The Roasted Bean. We looked at simple, clean fonts that feel friendly and modern. We avoided fonts that were too fancy or too bold because we want our brand to feel welcoming and easy to read. Picking the right font helps make the brand consistent across everything we create.
We also started planning the overall style for our website. We talked about how the homepage should look, how the shop page should be laid out, and what kind of photos we might use. We want our website to feel simple and relaxing, not crowded or overwhelming. We want customers to feel comfortable clicking through the pages. We discussed using photos of beans, brewing moments, warm lighting, and simple layouts. This early planning helped us think ahead about the feel of our online presence.
By the end of the week, The Roasted Bean finally started to feel like a real brand. Not just an idea, but something with a clear personality and visual style. Working on the brand identity helped us understand how important design is when building a business. It also showed us that every choice, even something as small as a font, helps shape how people see and connect with our brand. This week brought our vision to life in a new way, and it made us even more excited to continue developing our project.
